POSITION TITLE:

Clinical Instructor, Coordinator American Sign Language Program.
Academic Staff Position, 12 months with potential for permanent
appointment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Coordinate and develop the American Sign Language Program.  Teach
classes  in ASL (I-IV),
coordinate and expand the program and develop more advanced offerings.
Special efforts to develop a distance learning component for the program
will be expected.  Person will also serve as a liaison to the
Interpreter Training Program and the Department of Exceptional
Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree related to the Teaching of ASL, Second Language
Learning,Deaf Studies, Deaf Education or a related discipline.  ASLTA
Certification preferred. Native or native-like competency in American
Sign Language.

SALARY:

Negotiable and competitive.

STARTING DATE:

August 23, 1999
