Deaf teachers (both of whom are native ASL users) who instructed me in American Sign Language said that it was easy in the deaf community to pick out whose parents were Deaf and whose parents were hearing because of their style of signing... they were referring to the local deaf community where lexical differnces wouldn't be particularly apparent... so is it an accent that is distinguishing children of Deaf adults from children of hearing adults?
