locus height vs. referent's position

Hello!

There is some discussion about the height in signing space in whitch a
locus has to be established, depending on the kind of the (unpresent)
referent:
First, the height of the locus depends on the physical properties of
the referent (height/height of referent, e. g. on a ladder), but it also
depends on the referent's position, e. g. an unterling talking to a
king.

Does anybody know some literature discussing this last point and could
point me to it?
I expect(ed) to find this in connection with role shifting and agreement
verbs, perhaps in asian sign languages, but so far I did not find much.

thx.
