POST-DOC POSITION IN MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAIFA.

A post-doctoral position in sign language linguistics is offered in Wendy Sandler’s ongoing multi-disciplinary research project, The Grammar of Body. The project is conducted at the University of Haifa, Israel, situated in a pleasant and peaceful Mediterranean port city, and is funded by the European Research Council. The successful candidate should have a strong background both in linguistics and in sign language research, and should be a good team worker in a multi-disciplinary atmosphere.  Very strong English and good writing skills required.  The position is for 1-2 years.

Some sign language topics under study in the project are:  the emergence of linguistic form in new sign languages, the relation between the body and linguistic functions, and implications for the evolution of language.
