*Upcoming call for postdoctoral positions in Spain: expressions of interest
in the Formal Linguistics Group at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona)*



The *Formal Linguistics Group* (*GLiF*, *Grup de Lingüística Formal*)
at *Pompeu
Fabra University* would like to draw the attention of young postdoctoral
researchers in Linguistics to the imminent opening of two different calls
for a number of 2-year postdoctoral contracts within the “Juan de la
Cierva” program of the Spanish Ministry for Economy, Industry, and
Competitiveness (MINEICO).


*1)* *Ayudas para contratos Juan de la Cierva-formación*: For early stage
researchers who were awarded their PhD between 1 January 2016 and 31
December 2017. The application period will start on 21 December 2017 and
will end on 11 January 2018. The currently available information about the

*2)* *Ayudas para contratos Juan de la Cierva-incorporación*: For
researchers who were awarded their PhD between 1 January 2013 and 31
December 2015 The application period will start on 20 December 2017 and
will end on 10 January 2018. The currently available information about the
call can be found here (in Spanish):

Applications by eligible candidates must be supported by a member of a
department or research center within Spain, willing to incorporate the
successful applicant.


GLiF <https://www.upf.edu/web/glif> encourages qualified candidates,
working in areas within the research scope of the group, to send their
expression of interest to the intended supporter for the postdoctoral
contract  and to the group’s coordinator, Josep Quer (josep.quer at upf.edu).
Interested candidates must send their cv, a short expression of interest
and the link to their webpage, if available, *by 15 December 2017*.

·       Philosophy of language

·       Probabilistic semantics

·       Sign language grammar and discourse

·       Syntax-semantics interface

·       Theoretical linguistics

Please note that GLiF itself is neither the grant-awarding body nor a
department, nor the only group based at an institution that might
incorporate successful applicants. Please note also that support from
members of the group is not automatic but subject to their agreement in the
light of the candidate’s academic profile and the ability to fulfill the
teaching requirements of the Department of Translation and Language
Sciences (80 hours/year). In addition, each supporter is only allowed to
back one applicant.
