I would like to alert you all to two forthcoming volumes on
classifiers. One is Karen Emmorey's volume form the conference on
classifiers in 2000 (2001?), from Lawrence Erlbaum Associates.<br>

The other is the issue of Sign Language & Linguistics vol 3, no. 2
(John Benjamins publisher) which contains 4 contributions on this topic.
In it, Dorothy <font size=3>Cogill-Koez offers a different way of looking
at classifiers (first paper), a new model (second paper), and a
squib/comment on Allan's interpretation of the classifier data he used
for his paper on classifiers (written by Dorothy on behalf of her and
Elisabeth Engberg-Pedersen; fourth title), and Lars Wallin notes how the
dimensions of the referent determine the choice of classifier in Swedish
