I hope we can all agree that literacy is valuable. I'm not sure if we
agree that literacy in the first language is important because some
reject the idea of a common written script for sign language.<br>
<br>
This study reaffirmed that literacy in your first language is valuable;
however, this conclusion should have been assumed.<br>
<br>
This study proved that SignWriting is a viable and adequate solution
for learning literacy and training the language center of the brain. <br>
<br>
There is no other common script that has shown such natural results.
The SignWriting Alphabet is going to be released under the Open Font
License for public use. The SignWriting user is able to read and write
with the sign language alphabet and communicate without spoken language
or video. <br>
<br>
We're hoping to include SignWriting with wiki and knowledge base
systems. Some of the nuance of sign language is missed, but the
essential and the important are easily recorded. Just as written
English can't capture every nuance of James Earl Jones, written ASL
can't capture every nuance of a great performance.<br>

Sign language written vertically in lanes is a joy to read. <br>
