</x-tab>The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at
Austin invites applications for a specialist in the linguistics of
signed languages.<br>
Position rank is open. Job title will be commensurate to
qualifications<br>
and/or expertise. The position begins on August 18, 2008. Position
funding</font></div>
<div><font face="Lucida Grande" size="-3" color="#000000">is pending
budgetary approval.</font></div>
<div><font face="Lucida Grande" size="-3" color="#000000"><br>
Duties include (a) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in
the<br>
linguistics of signed languages and related topics; (b) Directing
thesis<br>
and dissertation research; (c) Conducting original research and<br>
publication; (d) Sharing in the supervision of the department's
program in<br>
American Sign Language; (e) Advising undergraduate and graduate
students;<br>
(f) Performing departmental and institutional service.<br>
<br>
Requirements include: (a) PhD, awarded no later than August 18, 2008;
(b)<br>
Excellence as a teacher and researcher; (c) Fluency in American
Sign<br>
Language and/or one or more other signed languages.<br>
