 director, DCAL invites applications for a new Director to ensure its continuing success. The appointment will be made at reader/professorial level depending on experience and qualifications.

 applicant will have a strong track record of academic publications in the field of deafness, cognition and language and of obtaining significant research grant funding. They will have an international reputation in the field and leadership experience in managing
 a research centre or a large research group. Applicants from the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: psychology, linguistics, psycholinguistics,<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="layout-grid-mode:char;text-autospace:none"><span lang="X-NONE" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">cognitive neuroscience, or language development.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 hearing people. An appreciation of the diversity within the deaf population and a demonstrated interest in engaging with the wider community and policy makers is also important. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research-led teaching
 via the development of specialised content for postgraduate and doctoral level professional degrees, and to perform the normal administrative duties expected of a member of academic staff.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
