</head><body><p>Dear colleague,</p><p><strong><u>Re: efsli Learning Outcomes (2013) and Linguistics in Interpreter Education Programmes (LIPs) survey</u></strong></p><p>We are emailing you with an invitation to participate in our Linguistics in Interpreter Education Programmes (LIPs) survey. The project is being carried out by Prof. Dr. Tobias HAUG, HfH, Switzerland (Principal Investigator) (<a href="mailto:tobias.haug@hfh.ch)">tobias.haug@hfh.ch)</a><strong>, </strong>Professor Lorraine LEESON, Trinity College Dublin (<a href="mailto:leesonl@tcd.ie)">leesonl@tcd.ie)</a> (both members of the efsli Committee of Experts) and Prof. Christine MONIKOWSKI, (NTID – RIT, Rochester, New York, USA) (<a href="mailto:cemnss@ntid.rit.edu)">cemnss@ntid.rit.edu)</a><strong>.</strong></p><p>The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which sign language Interpreter Education Programs (IEPs) in the European Union include the discipline of linguistics in their interpreter education program courses. We are particularly interested to explore if/how changes to curricula have occurred following the publication of the European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters (efsli) Learning Outcomes (2013), which, as you know, includes specific targets for sign linguistics in IEPs.</p><p>We would like to ask for your assistance in raising awareness of this survey via the national associations of sign language interpreters.
