In December 2017, the Irish Sign Language Recognition Bill was signed into law by the President of Ireland. This marked a historic moment for sign language users across the State. In tandem with this, work has been developing on a range of issues that map to
key points addressed in the legislation, namely language description, language rights, access to civil society via interpretation, the right to equal access to education, employment and self-determination.</p>

Abstracts should be anonymised (with no author names in the text). The anonymous abstract should include the title and indicate whether it is intended for poster or signed/spoken presentation. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words (including tables,
examples and references), in 12-point font, single line spacing and 2.5 cm margins. ISL video submissions should endeavor to follow a similar ‘word’ count and structure.</p>
