If I wanted to look from above, that would show the palms UP! Is that what you had in mind?

The Half and Half hands would NOT have the fingers separated as the hands are NOT sticking out.

= would be (Palms facing the signer, looking DOWN on edge)

= would be (Palms are UP, looking from signer FORWARD)

How's the Valerie, et al, that's how I'd make them equivalent.

Stefan, Charles,....

So, your opinion is ? Am I right? (Charles)

Now, I had study my hands some minutes ( half hour ;))

And yes, I see 'unfilled hands' more than 'half and half'. But I see it 'half and half' bite too! So, I do doubt more, now... (I know, I'm a difficult woman :))

Stefan, I shall ask/discuss with;) another people, monday, and I do send the result than :)

Byebye, Sara

The second shows the two hands facing the reader, so face down, which would make the second one off by 90 degrees. I wouldn't read the first one as "bird's eye perspective as the hands are seen from the edge. My automatic reasoning for "edge on", is looking from the "edge of the hands", not from above. This is from the long years when we couldn't show hands sticking "out" at all, and the "space" indicating "sticking out", for me, is ONLY used when the hands stick out perpendicularly from the body, not from above.
