SignWriting List
December 12, 2007

Actually we already wrote some of the Signing Naturally curriculum in
the 1990's...I got written permission to do that from Dawn Sign Press
and based a workbook on it...

Meanwhile, SignWriting of individual signs placed next to some videos
of individual signs will not hurt anyone either...so really I think
you all are correct...

If SignWriting is used to write many different publications that
would be the best...

And actually SignWriting is not always writing what someone else
signs either...Nancy wrote directly in ASL without basing her writing
on any video, so everyone will write differently and the SignWriting
script is a neutral participant...

I know there is politics...I recognize that fully... all this is the
future and right now I just want you to know that the Rocket Signs is
inexpensive and places nice videos on people's desktops very
fast...so it should not be discounted as good software...The software
itself could be used to teach SignWriting by video, it is so well
done...so there are lots of ideas for their product in the future...

Thanks for your input - I notice no one mentioned Master ASL, which
also seems popular...

Val ;-)
