RES: [sw-l] SignWriting Article

Hello Claudney,
 
I think signwriting is important to teaches deaf students, my objective
article  is explain about this and argue why writing sign language don´t
replace another medias like DVD, CD-ROM, etc. But, I want do see another
point of view, to me it is important !
I was working signwriting 4 years. Today I am teaching Deaf kids.
December of 2006 in the last class of year I was surprised with class
performance. I gave they follow picture:
 

 
 
The activity was write about picture using signwriting knowledge, this
class have only 5 months learning signwriting one day per week. Look one

I guess it is just only the beginning

 
How you well say, “SignWriting is still not widespread among teachers
and other professionals as we hope it will soon be but there are people
working hard for this achievement.”

Hi Sergio,
good luck in your work, but I can´t agree with you when you say people
in Brazil think SignWriting is not important. SignWriting is still not
widespread among teachers and other professionals as we hope it will
soon be but there are people working hard for this achievement.
Insisting that SignWriting is not relevant for the learning process of
Deaf students (and why not for the listeners too?) help little.
