 Hi Steve and Val,
A belated congratulations on the ISWA 2008 and all the hard work.
Many have already shared their feelings about this great piece of work.
I too share their feelings and may it be used by generations to come
world wide.

 Hi Steve,
Thank you for making the conversion package available. I had been
busy but today I am going to download it and give it a try.

Thanks once again

    .hmmessage P { margin:0px; padding:0px } body.hmmessage { FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma } Thank you, Steve and Valerie,

for your huge work on this. Now we will have a great tool for future use, and hopefully this will help spred the good message even further.

As for the personal and pocket puddles: I understand that it will be possible to import from netbased puddles to these local puddles. Will the opposite also be true: that after working offline, it will be possible to export the work to an online puddle? This would be greatly appreciated,

Ingvild

Subject: [sw-l] SignWriting in MediaWiki

 Hi list,

MediaWiki is the software behind Wikipedia and many other websites.

I just completed a proof of concept for a SignWriting extension that can
display and edit signs within MediaWiki.
http://www.signpuddle.net/mediawiki

This extension called the "SignWriting MediaWiki Plugin" uses a slightly
modified version of the "SignWriting Image Server". The signs are
displayed right inside the articles and the signs are edited using the
new SignMaker.

The extension will be released under the GPL3. The documentation and
download for the alpha release will be available shortly.

Regards,
-Steve

 SignWriting List
October 30, 3008

WOW! Steve, this is a major development! THANK YOU!

I just danced a little dance for joy, around my office ;-))

I went to:
http://www.signpuddle.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page

Which I assume is the Alpha version of the SignWriting MediaWiki Plugin?

and I was able to edit and save a sign in the Wiki-style web
page....using the new SignMaker and the ISWA...ha!!

This may lead to possible Wikipedias in written Sign Languages, or
other wiki-based web sites, will be able to have SignWriting directly
on their sites...which will clearly lead to the spreading of
SignWriting throughout the internet...

Congratulations on this accomplishment...

Val ;-)
