Hello Stefan and Maria!

OK. So here is the terminology so we can understand each other:

German.................................English

Mundbildschrift......................Woehrmann's SpeechWriting

Mundbilder............................Mouthing

Mundgestik...........................Sign Language Grammatical Mouth
Movements

In English, we cannot call the third group "mime" or "mimic"....that
would only confuse English speakers. Mime or mimic, for me anyway,
means the classic pantomime performed on stage by mime artists, such
as the late great Marcel Marceau...And the term mime or mimic is not
just mouth movements...it means mime and gesture of the whole body in
English, in my understanding of English, anyway...

I do not know any other English term other than Sign Language
Grammatical Mouth Movements....

Does anyone else know an English term that means the same? It would be
great to know a shorter description like they have in German!

Val ;-)
