Hi Ingvild,
Yes they should be and are different.
But see how a handshape relate to the signtyp hand posture. Why?
Because they are both describing the same reality from two different
points of view.
My hand search work just the oposite of Signwriting to Signtype.
You can choose which fingers are extended, root shape, etc to find just
the handshape you need for a sign. I was thinking of extending the
search criteria to me be inclusive of hand feature as is the signtyp
hand posture.
