Movement of the wrist

Good morning, Ingvild and everyone -

Thank you for this message - It is really interesting. I had no idea. I do not remember the rule that you mention about keeping the line for the wrist at wrist level, but I wouldn't be at all surprised that we agreed to write it that way and then over time I started to apply the other rule, about the hand being the center, and the movement arrows pulling the hand in different directions… 

So yes, the Wrist movement symbols became more arbitrary for me, although the original intent is definitely that the line is for the wrist - so now you have me curious - smile - I am going to go back into our old textbooks to see if we stated a rule that the line for the Wrist should be kept at the level of the wrist -

Meanwhile, go right ahead and write the Wrist symbols at the level of the wrist - I can imagine all your documents are like that and it looks fine - there will most likely be different placements of the Wrist symbols then, in different documents, and we can all read the documents so it is fine -

There is another case similar to this issue, but for another symbol - the Rotation Symbols - which technically could be attached to the hand symbols like a forearm rotating - in another message I will show you what I mean - and if that idea was applied, then the consistency of placing the up movement above the hand symbols and the down movement below the hand symbols, would also be upset -

I am now going to look at my old textbooks - I really am curious - I am sure you and I did have an understanding years ago on this -
