Hello SW List members -
Thanks to Nancy Romero's skills with translating the New Testament from English into written ASL (see www.ASLGospel.org), Nancy has also been working quickly to write ASL translations of English Wikipedia articles, and posting them in our test project, the ASL Wikipedia on Wikimedia Labs. We need around 40 articles to be considered for an "official Wikipedia" in the future…and that day will certainly come…

Thank you, Nancy, for posting these new articles in the past week: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address, Paramedic, Lady or Tiger?, California School for the Deaf at Riverside, Lou Fant and possibly others…I have lost track you are working so fast! ;-))

And of course thanks to Adam Frost as the ASL Editor, and thanks to Charles Butler for his article on Helen, Georgia, and Nancy also did other articles long ago… and we welcome all writers to contribute articles any time. If you want to contribute, go into the English Wikipedia and choose an article you wish to translate from English to ASL, and write it in SignPuddle Online and then tell us it is there, and we will move it into the ASL Wikipedia for you...

So we now have 22 articles - wow!!

Not all of them are in the front page directory of the ASL Wikipedia yet, but you can search for them in the search field in the ASL Wikipedia, or you can go directly to the links below to see the new articles…
