Hello Edi and everyone at the SignWriting presentation in Slovenia!

Thank you for inviting me to attend your excellent event yesterday - It went really well and I am very impressed with your presentation, Edi. It was exciting for me to see the entire room, and to be able to speak a few moments to the group, and then to watch you teach SignWriting to the sign language participants in the room - And I enjoyed the wonderful men’s choir, who sang two lovely songs, and the sign language interpreters, and the English voice interpreter for me, all did an excellent job. I felt like I was truly sitting in the room with you in Slovenia, even though I had never even packed a suitcase or taken an airplane half way around the world. Skype is miraculous! And so is your work in Slovenia. SignWriting is 40 years old this year, and for me, seeing your presentation felt like I was back in Denmark in 1974!

Then, when the hour and one half presentation was complete, I turned off my computer, still hearing the Slovenian language ringing in my ears, only to realize I was still in my home in California, and that my mother had a birthday party for her 94th birthday - and so we celebrated all yesterday - Two amazing events - SignWriting in Slovenia and the renewal of life in old age -

I am happy to see you already have a dictionary (SLOVAR) and other SignWriting documents - if there are any documents you want posted that I have forgotten, please tell me - I could post your PowerPoint presentation but I was not sure if you wanted me to do that?

Anyway, my Skype automatically records conversations - so here is a screen capture from one moment in the presentation - Edi Strouhal is standing to the right, and the interpreter is next to him…and I was watching as a part of the presentation - I am so fortunate to be invited - Thank you again - Val ;-)
