James, are you comparing Chinese to math language or SW? And kids love
cookies - I don't think they'd give you any.

This writing system has its own symbols and its own rules, and is not dependent on the national language. Since it does not use the local language, it would also not use the sign language of my students, and therefore it would not be any more appropriate to write a sign into a math problem than to write a word into it.
>>
>> The place to use signwriting in math would be in formulating problems and in explaining concepts. As sign language and math both are highly space dependent, and sign writing can represent this space relationships, this is where sign writing would be excelent for math teaching.
>>
>> In the Norwegian sign puddle, which is still very much of a mess, I try to tag signs by concepts. You will find those I have cleansed so far that are related to math taggeg as #matematikk

The Deafian teacher asked me if I knew anyone who has already written or developed such SW math materials. Stefan: do you now use SW (Delegs) materials for math solving problems? If so, would you be so kind as to sending me your SW math problem solving by email? The Deafian teacher will then show it to the new superintendent. James Kegl: I remember that you once had the intention to develop a math problem solving for Nicaraguan Sign Language. Do you have these SW materials now? If so, would you mind sending them to me by email? Does anyone else have SW materials for math problem solving? If so, I would like to get them as well, and give them to the Deafian teacher. Best regards,
