Ha! No it is not a typo! Those symbols have been in the writing system
since 1995, but are rarely used...since they are used in Spanish Sign
Language and only a few other signed languages that I know of...I do
not personally use them in ASL...so that is a specific rule that I
stated below and I meant it!

Am I misreading your illustration? In all of the rotations
for the "5" hand, the thumb is on the "dark" side, but the actual
index hand (to the left, standing alone) has the thumb on the "light"
side. Is this a typo?
