<P>Dear Val and others!</P></DIV>
<P>Yes, Jyvaskyla can be tricky to read, since it's a good example of a sign with a non-SWer friendly handshaps :) To fix this, I went to Paint to turn the orientation (see the attachement). ( By the way, Turku can be signed with the orientation that the attachement shows, but since it isn't realy incorrect to do it with the orientation I wrote to the list of towns, I didn't bather to fix it.) So how do you sign Jyvaskyla? Left hand in that 45-ankle orientation (according to the attachement), the right hand brushing twice the left hands "top" = thumbside of the hand with the movement going left-up-corner-to-right-down-corner ( of a pretended "box"). Get what I mean? :) So that you can imagine you're brushing the rooftops of Jyvaskyla ( which in Finnish means " a grain village") ;).</P></DIV>
<P>So how would you write that? When I need I use those "45-ankle" orientations, of which I don't know weather others use them..? In many cases it isn't important for a native signer/reader to write them excatly right, but sometimes you just have to and that's why I use them. What do you think?<BR><BR></P>

<DIV></DIV>>Dear SW List, and Nitsu -
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>Great. Yes...we can write everything, so it is just a matter of
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>understanding what you want to write. I am only looking for signs
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>that
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>I would personally have trouble signing, from your writing...That
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>way
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>we can see what is written clearly...and what is not as clear...We
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>all
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>go through this process, when we are creating dictionaries...
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>The sign for Tampere seems clear to me! And the sign for Helsinki is
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>fine...I would place the handshape a little closer to the area of
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>contact...
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>The sign that is not clear for me is Jyvaskyla...What are you
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>brushing,
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>the chest? So write to tell me what you are brushing, and then I
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>will
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>try to re-write it for you to see if we can make it clearer...
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>I am so happy to see Finnish signs! Thank you for sharing them with
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>us,
