<P>Hello list,</P>
<P>I think what Shane said could be really usefull! But!!! Who will do this? I'm sorry to say that next to my work at school, work at the deaf club and sporting activities I have next to no time to spare... How do you propose we start this off? And how will it be developed?</P>
<P>I'm not saying I don't want to. Maybe we can create a space somewhere on a website or on the internet (it's big enough ;) to gather information so we can help each other out! Sometimes when my day is done and I get home. I really wonder if what I did in my classroom that day was correct!? That's not really the point. </P>
<P>I guess like all teacher I just need some feedback. We have asked the 'Gebarentaal centrum' Centre for sign language in Flanders to start a project to make a curriculum for VGT. But we need money :s And if the project is finaly finnished, I will be 3 years older. </P>

<DIV></DIV>>At the moment, we are sending a request to the Department of
<DIV></DIV>>Education for Northern Ireland to get the funding to start a Dual
<DIV></DIV>>Language Immersion (integrated) primary school where children, deaf
<DIV></DIV>>and non-deaf, will be taught through NISL and English (ISL and
<DIV></DIV>>English if in the Western Area of NI) - so I am very glad Kathleen
<DIV></DIV>>have raised the point here - it is very important to know how our
<DIV></DIV>>national sign languages are being taught etc - most of us are so
<DIV></DIV>>used to teaching adults - or even kids as second languages - but to
<DIV></DIV>>teach our national sign language as the first language?
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>maybe some of us in Europe can set up a working group on sign
<DIV></DIV>>language curriculum (across Europe) and discuss what is needed what
<DIV></DIV>>is to be taught etc
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>what do you think, Kathleen?
