The thumb, to me, was a good indicator that the hand flipped. I didn't
need an arrow to tell me, then, as I already had that indicator.<br>

Only one spelling shows the thumb sticking out on the left hand...Yet
most people will read all 4 spellings correctly. This probably means
that the thumb is not necessary to get the meaning of the sign...What
do you think?...Can we take the thumb away in the fourth sign and still
read it properly?...
