Hello, I have a question about priority of FILL in SW.<br>
<br>
There are some hand-shapes which are SignWritten in the way, you have
to decide if you should orient your hand by FILL or by fingers.<br>
For example Y-letter hand-shape. I can give you an example... Czech
capital city Prague.<br>
<br>
<br>
These two signs are two variants of Prague:<br>
<br>
1: closed fist shape<br>
<br>
<img area="3843" src="cid:part1.01060102.09000308@ruce.cz" alt="Praha"
align="middle" border="0"><br>
<br>
2: TEN hand-shape<br>
<br>
<img area="4148" src="cid:part2.02090500.05000306@ruce.cz" alt="Praha_2"
align="middle" border="0"><br>
<br>
<br>
There is one more variant of this sign which is the same, but with Y
hand-shape and I'm not sure if it should be 3a or 3b:<br>
(Y hand-shape. Right hand palm-face orientation is left. Left hand
palm-face orientation is right. They are faced against each other.
Thumb aims up, little-finger aims down. Both hands move down)<br>
<br>
3a: FILL has higher priority<br>
<br>
<img area="4757" src="cid:part3.07000508.06070103@ruce.cz" alt="Praha_4"
align="middle" border="0"><br>
<br>
3b: fingers have higher priority<br>
<br>
<img area="4154" src="cid:part4.09000803.03070304@ruce.cz" alt="Praha_3"
align="middle" border="0"><br>
<br>
My opinion is that 3a is the right one. But 3b shows exactly how
fingers are positioned. Thumb aims up, little-finger aims down.<br>
<br>
I am not sure with ethymology of this sign, but I have heard two
possible origins... one is more funny, then true... you can see "hands
putting glasses of beer on the table" in the sign :)<br>
The second meaning (and imho the right one) is that there is lot of
towers in Prague (many people call Prague the Hundred-tower Prague, but
actually here is more than 100 towers), so it means towers (but czech
sign for tower is signed differently).<br>
<br>
I've found some nice pictures of Prague here:
