<DIV>Putting USA in the alphabetic listing would also move the United States to the last place in the list, rather than the impression that is often given abroad that ASL is the only sign language in the world.  I had more than one complaint from non-ASL-ers at Deaf Way that the Sign Writing lectures were one of the few that even acknowledged that ASL was not the only sign language and did not presume that it was always "better."  Our Sign Writing presentations were one of a handful that presented ASL with other Signed Languages on equal footings not greater.</DIV>
