<p>During my doctoral work I realized how the choice of sign influences/ is influenced by the conception of the signer, in my cases children.
<p>
<p>As Norwegian Sign Language may use different sign for “Earth”, I saw that the “flat-earthers” used the sign showing “the whole wide world”, while the “spherical-earthers” used a ball-shaped sign.
<p>
<p>Similarly, those who believed the Sun is spherical and that the sun’s rays are not a physical part of the sun always used the circle sign for the Sun. Those who believed that the sun’s rays are physically attached to the sun, used the “sun-is-shining”-sign
<p>
<p>Also, the conception of the shape of the Moon and the choice of sign were connected.
