As "heel" is a part of the foot, I'd suggest using "wrist" view instead, it states what angle you are looking at, essentially straight forward at the wrist, not up from the "heel" of the foot. I know we've called it "heel" for a while, but it is confusing, and wrist is unambiguous.

Charles Butler

--- On Fri, 5/29/09, Charles Butler <chazzer3332000@yahoo.com> wrote:

From: Charles Butler <chazzer3332000@yahoo.com>
Subject: Re: [sw-l] Sign for SignPuddle
To: "SignWriting List" <sw-l@majordomo.valenciacc.edu>
Date: Friday, May 29, 2009, 11:18 PM

<td style="font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant:

So you see a rectangle that can be split in half to show which side is the back of the hand. The view is useful for showing boat and house because the hands are a 45 degree angle and pointed forward, which SW does not easily show on the wall plane.

--- On Mon, 5/25/09, Ronald Dettloff <signpreach@sbcglobal.net> wrote:

From: Ronald Dettloff <signpreach@sbcglobal.net>
Subject: Re: [sw-l] Sign for SignPuddle
To: "SignWriting List" <sw-l@majordomo.valenciacc.edu>
Date: Monday, May 25, 2009, 11:53 AM

<style

I am in San Diego with Valerie doing various work. We were talking about a sign for SignPuddle in ASL, and I came up with two versions of writing the same sign. Essentially it mean to throw signs together in one place. I felt that was more accurate to what SignPuddle means than to say an actual rain puddle since the meaning here is more a collecting of signs rather than raindrops into a puddle. Now the reason for the two versions is because I wanted to try out how it reads with the top view verses the heel view. I personally like the look and feel of the heel view. What do you all think? Here are the two versions, first with the second part of the sign in top view and then in heel view. Or you can go to SignPuddle and find them at <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank"
