The benefits are indirect.<br>

One possible benefit involves MediaWiki. The people reviewing the
SignWriting MediaWiki Plugin did not appreciate the filesystem
font. The database font will resolve this issue for them. This
means a Wikipedia in SignWriting may be closer to reality.<br>
