It is essentially DanceWriting applied to writing signs that I saw on a video. So it is a little like music on a five-lined staff, except we are only looking at the top three lines of the five-lined staff. The stick figure is the old DanceWriting stick figure, facing the reader in the Receptive mode, although I knew nothing about Receptive or Expressive issues at that time. So to see some real SignWriting in the early days, when other people were writing their language, it might be more interesting to look at other examples, like the old SignWriter newspaper, or even the work done with children in the Danish School System in the 1980’s.</div><div><br></div><div>Such is history - it takes one step at a time to get where we are today.</div><div><br></div><div>Here is the way I might write it today… although I might shorten it further if I know the language - the two markings on the face showing the rim of the face and the places for contact are actually not written as much today and for me, are only needed when reading foreign sign languages:</div><div><br></div><div>See in the Danish Sign Language Dictionary in SignPuddle:</div><div><a href="http://www.signbank.org/signpuddle2.0/canvas.php?ui=3&sgn=30&sid=22">http://www.signbank.org/signpuddle2.0/canvas.php?ui=3&sgn=30&sid=22</a><br><div><div><br></div><div><img height="285" width="219" apple-width="yes" apple-height="yes" apple-inline="yes" id="FD737325-C836-48A1-84A3-1E1B4E219029" src="cid:E80DEA27-F95D-451E-A14F-4DB2C2961A22"></div><div><br></div><div>Val ;-)</div><div><br></div><div>PS: Madson - please read the next message I will post to the SignWriting List about another idea I need your feedback on…</div><div><br></div><div> </div><div><br></div><div>----------------------------------</div><div><br></div><div>On Sep 9, 2014, at 3:10 AM, Madson Barreto <barretobh@GMAIL.COM> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr"><div>Hi, Valerie and everyone,</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>SignWriting so evolved since it was created.</div><div>And I want to show it in the 2nd edition of my book "Escrita de Sinais sem mistérios".</div>
