<div dir="ltr">Hi Sutthikhun,<br><div><br></div><div>Last December you shared the <a href="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/72/%22How_to_handwash%3F%22_by_WHO_%282015%29%2C_written_in_Sutton_SignWriting.png">poster about handwashing</a> in Sutton MovementWriting. I was blown away! </div><div><br></div><div>I think that anyone could learn Sutton MovementWriting to depict body language, gestures, physical action, etc. It doesn't have to be restricted to sign language or dancing. Your posters on the Mano gesture and handwashing <b>exemplify</b> the resourcefulness of SMW which can transmit a message more fully than written spoken language. (By the way, I love your new poster on the Mano gesture! What a beautiful painting, too.)</div><div><br></div><div>Like the current use of musical notations on music sheets and mathematics, Sutton MovementWriting can be understood internationally in spite of the differences in spoken languages. Clearly, these symbols are not just for deaf people or dancers. I believe anyone can use it for many other purposes as well. As it is happening already, these symbols are being used internationally. It is up to us to continue the spread and to maintain these symbols by teaching and using them.</div><div><br></div><div>I hope you will make more posters. Please continue sharing them with us here on the SW list!</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks,</div><div>AnnaGrace</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, Apr 11, 2022 at 9:39 AM Sutthikhun Phaengphongsai <<a href="mailto:suttikunep@gmail.com" target="_blank">suttikunep@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Valerie and everyone, </div><div><br></div>I'm not sure if MovementWriting (MW), including SignWriting and DanceWriting (DW), enables writing symbols for human interaction on a regular basis. As far as I know, SW is used for writing sign language from the expressive viewpoint of a single signer, and DW can be used for writing solo and group dances from the receptive viewpoint, but I haven't seen writing for interpersonal interactions like person-to-person touching. So I intended to try writing MW in a different way, and I believe that in the future, SW, DW, and other kinds of MW will also be used to write physical interactions between people.<br><div><br></div><div>Sutthikhun</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, 11 Apr 2022 at 10:40, Valerie Sutton <<a href="mailto:sutton@signwriting.org" target="_blank">sutton@signwriting.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div>SignWriting List<div>April 10, 2022</div><div><br></div><div>What a fascinating position to write, Sutthikhun.
