The writing made by Valerie based on the video produced by
Josenilson provoked doubts in the SW WhatsApp group in
Brazil, because as the symbol (*) was not written to touch,
I understand that there is ambiguity, as I could read the
writing as the sign was in front of the body, in
neutral space, or as there is facial expression marking of
teeth movement, it could be read as the front of the face.
I also have some doubts about how to write locations,
especially writing sign that is performed with facial
expression.
Below is some screenshots of the video I produced, I hope
you understand the doubts.
Very interesting.

Can you attach a short video showing the sign? That will
really help.

You are correct that simple contact is quite different
than actually grasping clothing or holding a belly. The
Grasp Symbol was developed to show holding something. For
example holding somebody else's hand in dance, or pinching
your ear, or pinching your clothing. But if the hands are
only touching the chest but not really holding anything
then you are right that a contact star is all you need. Or
maybe you do not need a contact symbol there at all.

However I still feel the need to see the sign because I'm
not quite sure what I'm reading. Are the two hands in
front of the belly or torso? With the fingers intertwined
with each other doing a movement 2 times in-between each
other?

Can the two hands be placed closer to each other directly
in the Torso area between the Shoulder and Hip Lines?
Yes, for me at least, I follow Writing Guidelines when
writing sign languages.

For example, these two rules or guidelines mean a lot to
me personally. I follow these everytime I write:

SignSpelling Rule 1: Write the Position of Contact

and it continues for many pages following on the web…

These guidelines can also be found at the end of the

We had long discussions early in 2022 about guidelines for
writing movement arrows and I had planned to write up a

I got so busy I didn't get to it. Maybe now is the time to
