It would be great if you and your students added articles to the
Libras Wikipedia on Incubator. This would show that interest
continues and encourage others to contribute as well.<br>

Personally, I no longer have time to work on Wikimedia projects. I
am happy to discuss and point people in the right direction. <br>
<br>
There are two primary issues to discuss about the sign language
Wikipedias.<br>
<br>
First, the sign language Wikipedias depend on two resources that I
setup on Wikimedia Foundation Labs. These servers are running on a
deprecated operating system. They were going to be shut down for
security reasons. Once I informed the lab admins that the sign
language Wikipedias depended on these servers, they encouraged me to
find other volunteers who might be able to perform the server
upgrade. I was able to find two people who were interested. They
will be upgrading these servers and the current servers will not be
taken down until their replacements are ready.<br>

Second, the stylesheets for Incubator have evolved over the years.
The stylesheets for the sign language Wikipedias have not been
updated accordingly. There may be issues with formatting. Adding
new articles would encourage developers to update the stylesheets
for the sign language Wikipedias.<br>

A couple of months ago we were told that the Wikimedia
Foundation might take them down….offline.<br>

But...<br>

Some good news! Steve explained to me this morning that the
Wikipedias in SignWriting are not going to be taken down
afterall. There are some technical issues behind the scenes,
but once those issues are resolved we are able to use the same
venue as before. They are still there and they will continue
and we can still add articles to the Wikipedias online. Isn’t
this great news?<br>

Thank you Steve for explaining this to me and I hope,
Professor Rubens, that your projects will continue in Brazil
and that others will consider posting new articles …<br>
