And this script will be available later on signwriting.org so that if in a few years some other sign language wants to continue the project, they will already have the script in hand, just needing to record and adapt small parts for the local culture.
Soon (when the other ongoing projects are finished or nearing completion) we will send an email to the entire list asking who from each country volunteers for this project.
My initial plan is to have a weekly zoom meeting between these participants to organize the script together and determine the order of content, deadline and collaboration.

We have a lot to gain from this exchange and signwriting will become more present around the world.

On Mon, Nov 14, 2022 at 12:11 PM Uta Meißner <uta.hielscher@gmail.com> wrote:

Dear Val, your idea of making sign writing accessible to more deaf people through video tutorials is great. Dear SW List Members -

I need your help.

Can we create a collaborative YouTube channel for International SignWriting Instruction using video in your sign languages?

I spoke with Steve Slevinski, and he suggested that, rather than creating a web page, it will be better if we collaborate as a group, to create a new YouTube Channel, that gives SignWriting educators in each country the collaborative membership in the Channel, so everyone can post their videos that teach SignWriting topics in their sign languages.

Hopefully the YouTube Channel can be administered by several people, and each country will have their place and permission to post instruction videos in their sign languages, linking in some way to my English book instruction, and also linking to the SignWriting YouTube Channel that we already have, but it will be only for teaching SignWriting topics.

Shall we call it something like:

“SignWriting Instruction Channel”

or…

SignWriting Lessons International

or…

What would you call it?

And can someone help me set it up on YouTube?

Then I will create a Lesson and try to link to your videos -

I am struggling a little because I do not know how to do this - hope you can help me - it could become a valuable way for people to see your instruction - here on the SW List it is limited because not everyone knows how to use the SW List and so we are not reaching as many people -

Any ideas? Do you already have collaborative YouTube channels?

Val ;-)
I look forward to working with all of you on creating a video library of instruction videos in different sign languages, all available on the same topic, on a web site that is easy to find the topic in both spoken and signed languages.
