<div style="font-weight: 400;"> <span style="color: rgb(0, 128, 128);">Der rassismus- und diskriminierungskritische Umgang mit Bibliotheksbeständen ist sowohl in der öffentlichen Debatte als auch in der bibliothekarischen Praxis ein zentrales Thema. Als öffentlich finanzierte Bildungs- und Kulturinstitutionen tragen Bibliotheken eine besondere Verantwortung für einen reflektierten und sensiblen Umgang mit ihren Beständen. Gleichzeitig enthalten viele Bestände weiterhin Werke mit rassistischen oder diskriminierenden Darstellungen, deren unkritische Vermittlung bestehende Stereotype und Ausschlüsse verstärken kann.</span></div>

<span style="color: #008080;">An der Tagung werden diese Herausforderungen in diversen Formaten aufgegriffen, die sich unter anderem mit dem historischen Kontext von Rassismus und seinen gesellschaftlichen Auswirkungen, der Erkennung diskriminierender Werke in der bibliothekarischen Praxis, der Förderung diverser Bestände sowie mit ethischen Fragen und dem Spannungsfeld von Ethik, Neutralität und Verantwortung in Bibliotheken beschäftigen.</span>

<span style="color: #008080;">Ergänzt wird das Programm durch einen Workshop, in dem gemeinsam praxisnahe Empfehlungen für den bibliothekarischen Alltag entwickelt werden. Die Tagung ist Teil eines laufenden Projekts, in dem gemeinsam mit Bibliotheken und Institutionen eine Publikation mit konkreten Handlungsempfehlungen für die bibliothekarische Praxis erarbeitet wird.</span>

<span style="color: #ff6600;">Le traitement des contenus racistes et discriminatoires dans les collections des bibliothèques est un sujet central, aussi bien dans le débat public que dans la pratique bibliothecaire. En tant qu'institutions culturelles et éducatives financées par des fonds publics, les bibliothèques portent une responsabilité particulière quant à une gestion réfléchie et sensible de leurs collections. De nombreux fonds contiennent encore des ouvrages comportant des représentations racistes ou discriminatoires, dont la transmission non critique peut renforcer les stéréotypes et les exclusions existants.</span>

<span style="color: #ff6600;">Lors du symposium, ces défis seront abordés dans des interventions spécialisées portant notamment sur le contexte historique du racisme et ses effets sociaux, l’identification des œuvres discriminatoires dans la pratique bibliothécaire, la promotion de collections diversifiées, ainsi que sur les questions éthiques et la tension entre éthique, neutralité et responsabilité dans les bibliothèques.</span>

Le symposium s’inscrit dans un projet en cours, mené en collaboration avec des bibliothèques et des institutions, visant à produire une publication contenant des recommandations pratiques pour le travail en bibliothèque.</span>
