Graduate Programme in Linguistics at NTU, Singapore

Applications are invited for Ph.D. and MA studentships in linguistics within the Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The Division is offering excellent postgraduate study opportunities for talented applicants across a range of subjects. We are looking for applicants who are interested in pursuing research for their MA or Ph.D. in the following areas:
- Bilingualism and language acquisition
- Chinese Linguistics
- Computational linguistics
- Conversation Analysis
- Intercultural Communication
- Language documentation and description
- Phonetics and phonology
- Psycholinguistics
- Sociolinguistics
- Syntax

Duration of the course:
The Ph.D. degree is normally completed in four years of full-time study, with a maximum candidature of five years of full-time, or seven years of part-time study. The MA degree is normally completed in two years, with a maximum candidature of three years full-time, or four years part-time.

Admission Requirements:
Applicants should have (1) a good Honours or Master's degree, or equivalent, in either Linguistics or a relevant field from a recognized university, or be expecting to achieve this soon; (2) a good GRE score; and (3) good TOEFL or IELTS scores if their mother tongue is not English.
