announces
the Bihari Krishna Fellowship for Ethnographic Research for the year 2011

The Bihari Krishna Fellowship for Ethnographic Research was established with a grant of Rs 5 million provided by Bihari Krishna Shrestha to Social Science Baha with the express purpose of setting up a fellowship devoted to ethnographic research.

Applications are invited from researchers interested in any of the following themes:
1. Gender relations with special reference to women’s rights over the past 50 years
2. Constructions of the good society
3. Narratives of violence and non-violence
4. Living together: Cooperation and conflict over the past 50 years

The Bihari Krishna Fellow for 2011 will work with Dr Rajendra Pradhan and be based at the Nepa School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chabahil, Kathmandu.

Qualification required: Master’s degree in anthropology
Duration of fellowship: 18 to 20 months (including pre-field visit preparation, fieldwork, analysis and writing, presentation of findings and draft manuscript for publication)
