Dear Uralists,

below, an example of requests of a more and more frequent kind ("Dear X, I'm
collecting words/expressions for XYZ from as many languages of the world as
possible, for my (child's) school project/for our advertisement campaign/for
our cross-cultural multimedia event, etc. etc. - could you help me find
Uralic counterparts for ...").

Those of you who feel you could spare a few minutes to help Ms Wójcik,
please answer her (directly to her, geraldine.wojcik at freesbee.fr, not to the
list). Others, please feel free to start a discussion on what we should do
with inquiries of this kind.

Best,

I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm currently doing a research
project on
Uralic languages. Could you please tell me how to say "Merry Christmas" and
"Happy New
Year" in as many Uralic languages as you know ? These are the only two
translations that I
can't find.

Thank you in advance,

Géraldine Wójcik
