Dear Colleagues,

we are happy to announce the birth of a new electronic journal, WEB-FU
(Wiener Elektronische Beiträge...), maintained by the Department of
Finno-Ugric Studies at the University of Vienna. WEB-FU will publish papers
on Finno-Ugristics in the broadest possible sense, i.e. including not only
Finno-Ugric language studies but also Hungarology, Fennistics, literature
and culture studies etc., as well as book reviews and discussion. The
languages used are German, English, Hungarian, Finnish and Estonian; papers
in Hungarian, Finnish or Estonian must include a short summary in German or
English. All papers submitted to the editorial board will be evaluated
before publishing, following the normal practice of scholarly publications.

WEB-FU appears exclusively in electronic form and is freely accessible to
all Internet users; the URL of the main page is http://webfu.univie.ac.at/.
The papers can be read and printed using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader
software. All contributions except the most recent ones will be stored in a
searchable databank. As there is no fixed schedule or subdivision in
"volumes" or "Hefte", the papers will appear as soon as they have been
accepted for publication.

WEB-FU welcomes your contributions and further enquiries. The address of the
editorial board is webfu.finno-ugristik at univie.ac.at.

Best regards,
on behalf of the editorial board

Johanna Laakso
