Grammar and Context
New Approaches to the Uralic Languages II
Helsinki, 27.-29.8.2007

Second Circular: call for papers

We invite you to submit abstracts (= summaries of papers to be presented)
for the symposium. The deadline for abstracts is 31.3.2007. Notification of
acceptance of abstracts will be sent by April the 16th.

Registration
If you have not sent us your preliminary registration, it is not too late to
register either by e-mail (konteksti-2007[at]helsinki.fi) or by ordinary
mail (Grammar and context 2007, Department of Finnish Language and
Literature, P.O. Box 4, 00014 University of Helsinki, Finland). Please send
us your abstract by 31.3.2007. If you are planning to participate in the
symposium without presenting a paper, please send us the following
information as soon as possible: name, department/university, e-mail
address, mail address and telephone number.

Abstracts
The maximum length for abstracts is 500 words, excluding the bibliography. A
bibliography is not essential, but if you include one, it should contain no
more than 5 central references. Abstracts should be written in the language
in which the paper is going to be presented (i.e. Finnish, English,
Hungarian, Estonian, German or Russian). Regardless of your choice of
language, the title for your paper should also be given in English.

Please pay attention to the following selection criteria that will be used
in the review process. An abstract should be based on research results. It
should contain a clear statement of the research question(s), a brief
account of the approach and data used in the research, and a summary of the
conclusions or (expected) results. The presentations will last for 20
minutes, followed by 10 minutes discussion.

Abstract should be sent preferably by e-mail (as part of the e-mail message
and not as an attachment) to the following address:
konteksti-2007[at]helsinki.fi. If the use of e-mail is impossible, you can
send your abstract by ordinary mail to the following address: Grammar and
context 2007, Department of Finnish Language and Literature, P.O. Box 4,
00014 University of Helsinki, Finland. The deadline for abstracts sent by
ordinary mail is also 31.3.2007. Abstracts of accepted papers will be
published on the website for the symposium and you will be informed of the
acceptance of your paper by e-mail.

Registration fee
The registration fee is 100 euros; however it is 50 euros for citizens of
member states that joined the EU after 2004, Russian citizens and for under-
and postgraduate students. Information on the manner of payment will be
provided later.

Invited speakers

Renate Pajusalu, Eesti ja soome-ugri keeleteaduse osakond, Tartu Ülikooli
