Betreff: [ural] West European Finno-Ugristic Students Meeting in Groningen
31/5-3/6 2007

Dear everyone,

After planning this for some time now I am happy to announce the first West
European Finno-Ugristic Students Meeting to be held in Groningen, the
Netherlands from the 31st of May until the 3rd of June 2007.

The meeting will be organized by the students and the student association at
the department of Finno-Ugric languages and cultures in Groningen, Kota>Ház.

The primary aim of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for students of
Finno-Ugric languages and cultures in the non-Finno-Ugric Western Europe to
meet each other in order to share views and make contacts with fellow
students and future colleagues. This, of course, does not exclude
participants from outside Western Europe.

The choice to call this a meeting as opposed to a conference or congress is
to emphasize the small scale and informal atmosphere intended. Despite this,
participants are encouraged to actively participate by delivering
presentations. Subjects for these may be anything related to
Finno-Ugristics, from linguistics to culture to maybe even something funny
and unscientific.

Participants are asked to submit their applications and whether they will
deliver a presentiation before the 1st of April. For application it's
sufficient to send us a name, the city/university and any other information,
such as a short abstract of the presentation. There will probably be a
modest participation fee which is to be determined at a later point. Any
questions can be directed to this address.

On behalf of the organizing committee and the students' association
Kota>Ház,
Norman Langerak
