Meeting Description:

The workshop is organized by the ongoing project Regional Aspects of Finnish
Syntax (FinDiaSyn) at the Research Institute for the Languages of Finland.

The goal is to bring together specialists on syntactic theory and typology
and
of Baltic Finnic languages and dialects, such as, among others, Estonian,
Karelian, Meänkieli and Kven (Finnish-based languages in Northern Sweden and
Norway), as well as Finnish, to discuss issues having to do with the grammar
of
Person -- an area of intricate variation in Finnic languages. The second
main
goal of the workshop is to widen the European Dialect Syntax network.

Keynote speakers: Anna Siewierska (Lancaster), Marja-Liisa Helasvuo (Turku)

The workshop consists of invited papers but is open to anyone interested
(see
the conference URL for information).
