International conference “Linguistic Forum 2019: Indigenous languages of
Russia and beyond”


As 2019 has been announced by the United Nations as The Year of Indigenous
Languages, the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences
is organizing an international conference “Linguistic Forum 2019:
Indigenous languages of Russia and beyond”, April 4-6, 2019 in Moscow, in
partnership with CIPL – Comité International Permanent des Linguistes /
Permanent International Committee of Linguists.


The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for dialog between experts
working on documentation and description of Indigenous languages, on
teaching, maintaining and revitalizing languages, on creation of multimedia
resources on indigenous languages as well as on a range of related topics.
The special theme of the conference: Indigenous languages in an urbanizing
world.
