From m.riessler at gmail.com Sat Mar 16 09:39:08 2019 From: m.riessler at gmail.com (=?utf-8?Q?Michael_Rie=C3=9Fler?=) Date: Sat, 16 Mar 2019 14:39:08 +0100 Subject: [Ura-list] Saami Studies Message-ID: Dear colleagues in Scandinavian and Uralic Studies, I'm currently carrying out a survey on recent individual research projects in Saami Studies (Lapology) at the M.A. and PhD levels. Traditionally such projects were mostly affiliated with Finno-Ugric/Uralic departments and their results published, presented, or reviewed through only a few different scientific forums (journals, monograph series, conferences). Since today teaching and research on topics in Saami Studies do also take place in various other fields (e.g. Ethnology, Geography, Politics, Economy, etc. in addition to Scandinavian Studies), the outcome of relevant projects is not always easy to trace. Note also that Nordic bibliographic projects on Saami (see, e.g., https://bibsys-almaprimo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?vid=SAMISK) have a strong bias on the Nordic countries. I am especially interested in projects beyond traditional philological topics (i.e. beyond linguistics and literature) carried out at universities outside the Nordic countries during the last three (or so) decades. I appreciate any help which can point me to relevant information.
