[Ura-list] Job: A three-year 50% PhD position in Uralic Studies at LMU Munich

Dear all,

The Institute of Finno-Ugric/Uralic Studies (Department 13-II) at the
Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich is inviting applications for a
three-year 50% PhD position to work on a dissertation in Uralic Studies.

The topic of the dissertation is not fixed and should be proposed by the
applicant. The main areas of research at the institute include Uralic
language family from typological, areal, and contact perspectives, Uralic
syntax (especially clause combining), and various aspects of Ob-Ugric
languages. Other research projects dealing with individual Uralic languages
as well as broader comparative topics are also welcome.

Complete applications must include a full CV (with possible publications),
a motivation letter with a description of the prospective dissertation
project (3–5 pages), a copy of a Master’s degree with a transcript (if
available), and names and contact details of two referees.

The earliest starting date is 1 May 2023, but a later date is also possible
based on mutual agreement. The deadline for applications is 15 March 2023.
