The book includes selected papers from the 11th International Conference of Nordic and General Linguistics (ICNGL), which took place at the University of Freiburg in 2012. </div><div><br></div><div><div>The organizers of the conference and editors of the volume aimed for an areal interpretation of the adjective Nordic. Consequently, the volume includes papers on Finnic and Saamic languages spoken in the Circum-Baltic area.
