She graduated from the Udmurt State University in 1975, and in 1975–1978 she was a doctoral student at the University of Tartu. She collected, studied and published Udmurt folklore since 1972. Since 1978 she organized expeditions to collect folklore and ethnographic materials. She supervised the compilation and publication of the Udmurt Folklore collection, a series of books “Cultural Monuments.
