TODAY IS SUNDAY MAY 8TH OF 2005. PEOPLE OBSERVED MOTHER’S DAY IN USA. IN SHORT WHAT CAN BE SAID IS THAT MOTHERS RECEIVED DIFFERENT KINDS OF GIFTS FROM THEIR CHILDREN. THEY SHARED DINNER WITH THEIR CHILDREN.

IN NEPAL ALSO, PEOPLE OBSERVED MOTHER’S DAY TODAY. NEPALESE PEOPLE CALL IT MATATIRTH AUNSHI OR IN OTHER WORDS THE ‘MOTHER’S DAY’ AS IN USA. IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE MOTHERS PEOPLE VISIT ‘MATATIRTH’ A HOLY SITE ABOUT 7 KILOMETERS WEST OF KATHMANDU, TAKE A HOLY BATH IN THE POND AND OFFER SOME THING IN THE NAME OF THE DEAD MOTHERS. MEN AND WOMEN VISIT THEIR MOTHERS GIVE SOME GIFTS AND SHARE DINNER.

IT IS INTERESTING HOW THIS MOTHER’S DAY HAPPENED EXACTLY ON THE SAME DAY IN THESE FAR-OFF LANDS AND OBSERVED IN THE SAME MANNER AND STYLES OR BELIEFS?
