Chers membres de l'ACLA,



L'ACLA, affiliée à l'Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliquée (AILA), a récemment soumis sa candidature pour accueillir le Congrès Mondial de l'AILA en 2027. Nous sommes ravies de vous annoncer que notre candidature a été retenue ! Cela signifie qu'en 2027, nous aurons le plaisir de mettre sur pied le congrès ACLA/AILA qui réunira des linguistes appliqués et des spécialistes de l'enseignement des langues du monde entier. Comme nous l'avons souligné dans notre candidature, bien que le Canada ait l'anglais et le français comme langues officielles, le paysage multilingue et multiculturel du Canada invitera les participants de l'AILA à mobiliser la recherche examinant de nombreuses langues, y compris les nombreuses langues indigènes du Canada et du monde.



En 2027, le congrès ACLA/AILA aura lieu dans notre magnifique ville de Vancouver, du 8 au 13 août, au Centre des congrès de Vancouver. Le comité AILA est très enthousiasmé et a fait savoir que "the central location and accessibility of Vancouver and the vibrant programming vision, including multilingual and multicultural emphases, were aspects that were particularly appreciated by the leadership".

Dear ACLA members,



As an affiliate of the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA), ACLA has been invited to prepare a bid to host the AILA Congress in 2027. We're thrilled to share with you all that ACLA has won the bid! This means that in 2027 we will have a large ACLA/AILA congress that will bring together applied linguists and language educators from all over the world. As we stated in our bid, while Canada has English and French as the official languages, Canada's multilingual and multicultural landscape will invite AILA attendees to mobilize research examining many languages, including the many Indigenous languages of Canada and the world.



In 2027, the ACLA/AILA congress will take place in the beautiful city of Vancouver, from August 8 to 13 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The AILA committee is very excited and reported that "the central location and accessibility of Vancouver, and the vibrant programming vision, including multilingual and multicultural emphases, were aspects that were particularly appreciated by the leadership.”
